Ibrahimovic crowned best player while Mandanda beats Vincent Enyeama to France’s Ligue 1 goalkeeper of the year
Lille Osc goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama, failed to win the Best Goalkeeper of the 2015/2016 Ligue 1 season, with Olympic Marseille’s Steve Mandanda taking the award home although he is the 6th best goalkeeper in Europe behind Manuel Neuer, Jan Oblak, Gianluigi Buffon, Kevin Trapp and Claudio Bravo according to CIES Football Observatory.
Enyeama has been in astonishing form for Lille Osc and has kept 14 clean sheets in 21 out of the 35 games he played in.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the star of the night was voted France’s Ligue 1 Player of the Year for a record third time on Sunday.
Ibrahimovic won the award, voted for by his peers, ahead of PSG team-mate Angel Di Maria, Hatem Ben Arfa and Lassana Diarra after scoring 35 goals in the capital club’s romp to a fourth straight French title.
The annual award ceremony that celebrates the best players from French Football was held on Sunday evening.
