Cameroon and Dinamo Bucharest footballer, Patrick Ekeng dies at 26
Cameroon international Patrick Ekeng has died after collapsing during a match for his club
The 26-year-old came on as a 63rd minute substitute but collapsed just seven minutes later.
Paramedics attempted to resuscitate him but he was pronounced dead at Floreasca Emergency Hospital less than two hours later.
He was just 26.
Local media in Romania, where the match was being screened live on television, said Ekeng suffered a fatal heart attack.
Ekeng only joined Dinamo in January and was making just his seventh appearance for the club when he collapsed in the Romanian league match against Viitorul Constanta, which Dinamo were winning 3-2.

Ekeng’s previous clubs include Le Mans, Rodez and Lausanne-Sport.
Spanish side Cordoba are the biggest club he played for, having joined them in July 2014.
He only stayed there for a season before leaving the club as a free agent after they were relegated from La Liga in the summer of 2015.
Ekeng made his Cameroon debut against DR Congo last January, before making his second and last international appearance against South Africa just days later.
He was included in the Cameroon squad for last year’s Africa Cup of Nations but was an unused substitute in each of his nation’s three group matches.
